Mountaineer Doug Scott, CBE, the first Briton to climb the SW face of Everest was invited to give a talk at the Victoria Hall in Grange over Sands. The event raised over £1275 for New Holehird. Thanks to Stewart Fife for organising this event.

Local MP Tim Farron presented a cheque for £345 towards the campaign. Tim raised the money through his triathalon in which he ran, sailed and cycled from the most northerly point of his constituency to Humphrey Head the most southerly point.This is Tim's second fundraising triathalon and he has raised around £1000 in total for us. We really appreciate his continued support for New Holehird. More

Gem of an idea! Little Gems was an exhibition of CD sized works of art donated by local and national artists, celebrities, family and friends. The event, organised by the Old Court House Gallery, Ambleside raised a fantastic £13,000. Many thanks to Andrew and Sylvia Brammall, and their staff at OCG and all the contributors. More
